The Mandir is situated at a height of about 1564 meters (5133 feet) above the mean sea level at a latitude of 30° 41.919′ N and 77° 18.279′ E longitude in village Chanahlag, Dinger Kinner, Tehsil Pacchad, District Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh.

Nearest town to village Chanahlag is Nahan, district headquarters of District Sirmaur. Nahan is approximately 250 km from Delhi, 90 km from Chandigarh and Dehradun, 45 km from Poanta Sahib and 60 km from Ambala. While coming from Nahan one has to first take Shimla road till Banethi (17 km from Nahan). From Banethi take diversion for Bagthan (22 km from here).

From Bagthan after crossing the Jalal Bridge turn right to continue on Bagthan – Rajgarh road and after about 4 km of drive take diversion from near village Charpari towards Charpari-Narag-Solan road. Drive for about 3 km to reach Bunty ka Ghat (about 47 km by road from Nahan that takes about 2 hours driving time till here) from where the road diverts for the temple towards Dinger Kinner road. Drive for about 4 km more to reach village Bakral. From here one has to trek uphill for about 600 m (15-20 minute walk) to reach the temple. The road from Bunty ka Ghat onwards is all weather but unmetalled.

From Bagthan after crossing the Jalal bridge one can also follow the road going on left via Badyog-Arka which meets Charpari-Narag-Solan road after about 3 km. Turn left to continue to Bunty ka Ghat diversion for temple. However this road gets closed during bad weather.

Bunty ka Ghat is about 145 km from Shimla via Solan-Rajgarh (85 km)-Khairi road, and about 125 km from Shimla via Kumarhatti-Narag road.

Bus Service is also available to this place. A bus from Nahan reaches village Chanahlag (Bakral) every evening and goes back from here every morning. The bus timing can be confirmed from bus stand Nahan on telephone number 01702-222512. Other buses coming from Nahan, Rajgarh, Solan, and Renuka Ji drop the passengers at Bagthan form where one can trek to reach the temple as was being done till couple of years back.

Trekking route 1 is from Bagthan via Lana Baka and is about 5 km; Trekking route 2 is from Lana Baka (if one come till here by other bus services) via Chashiya-Basahan which is about 3 km; and Trekking route 3 from near village Katyana between Charpari and Lana Baka with an uphill climb of about 3 km. If one comes from village Katyana he/she approaches the temple from its southern side whereas from other routes as well as by motorable road (which goes to Bakral) the approach is from the northern side of the village.

It is hot during the summer months but one does not feel the heat as cool breeze blows most of the time. In winters it is cold especially when it rains or has rare snowflakes. The maximum temperature is about 38° and the minimum temperature may go down to -1 degree. The average rainfall is about 60 to 70 inches with the maximum rainfall in the months of July and August. The Mandir can be visited at any time throughout the year

Hindi and Local Pahari dialect

On Line Branch of United Commercial Bank (UCO) is located at Bagthan with ATM facility during the working/banking hours.

A community hall with washrooms has been recently added. Basic lodging facilities along with bedding are thus available. Pilgrims interested in staying here may contact the office bearers. No paid home stay, bed and breakfast facility is available in the village. However, local residents happily extend boarding and lodging facilities. Pilgrims visiting this place can however stay at the PWD Rest House at Bagthan (Tel. No. 01799-245321) which is about 12 km from Bakral on Nahan-Bagthan road. The booking of the rest house can be done from the office of XEN PWD Rajgarh, Tehsil Rajgarh, District Sirmaur (H.P.). The telephone number of the said office is 01799-221023.
